The short version

No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies. We keep as close to nothing as a working website allows.

What we receive

When you search a food or scan a barcode, your browser sends us the search text or the barcode number so we can score it. Like every website, our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) sees your IP address and browser type in standard server logs. We do not build profiles from any of it.

The camera

Barcode scanning runs on your phone. The camera image is read on your device to find the barcode digits, and only those digits are sent to us. No photo or video ever leaves your phone. Deny the camera permission and everything else still works; type the barcode instead.

Cookies and tracking

We set no cookies and run no analytics or advertising scripts.

Third parties

Cloudflare serves the site and its API. Food lookups query USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts from our server, not from your browser, so those services never see you.

Kids

This site is for adults and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Your data

We have nothing to sell, share, or delete, because we store nothing about you. Questions: hello@lowgsf.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
